Mining ores is essential for crafting better gear and progressing through Hytale's zones. Each ore spawns in specific biomes and elevations, making some harder to find than others. This guide breaks down exactly where to mine each ore type for maximum efficiency.

# Copper Ore

Copper is your entry-level mining resource and the most abundant ore in Hytale. You'll need it early for basic tools and equipment.

Primary locations: Underground in the starter biome, Howling Sands desert, and cold mountain regions Mining strategy: Copper veins appear frequently when digging below the surface in almost any zone. The ore has a reddish-brown appearance that's easy to spot against stone. Since it's so common, you won't need to travel far to stock up on copper.

# Iron Ore

Iron represents a significant upgrade from copper equipment. While it spawns in starter zones, there's a much more efficient farming location.

Best farming spot: Howling Sands biome

Why this location works: The exposed cliffsides in this desert region contain dense iron deposits that are visible without digging. You can gather large quantities quickly by mining along the cliff faces rather than tunneling underground.

# Gold Ore

Gold is notably rarer than copper or iron, making it more valuable for mid-tier crafting recipes. Where to find it: Occasionally in the Howling Sands, and in small veins underground in both cold biomes and starter zones Mining tips: Gold doesn't have a dedicated farming spot, so you'll gather it opportunistically while mining for other resources. The yellowish ore blocks stand out against surrounding stone.

# Thorium Ore

Thorium is a mid-tier resource found in the same location as the best iron farming spot.

Optimal location: Cliffsides in the Howling Sands biome

Why mine here: Since thorium and iron spawn together in the desert cliffs, you can efficiently gather both ores in a single mining run. This makes the Howling Sands one of the most valuable mining destinations in the game.

# Silver Ore

Silver spawns almost exclusively in cold, mountainous regions and requires traveling to higher-tier zones.

Where to mine: Cold biome mountains

Elevation matters: Look for silver on mountain surfaces and exposed rock faces at higher elevations. The ore's metallic appearance makes it distinguishable from surrounding stone.

# Cobalt Ore

Cobalt is another cold-climate ore that shares spawn locations with silver.

Best farming zone: Mountain surfaces in cold biomes

Mining approach: Cobalt appears near the surface on mountain peaks, so you can gather it without extensive underground mining. The blue-tinted ore is relatively easy to identify visually.

# Adamantite Ore

Adamantite is the most challenging ore to locate because it only spawns in specific Tier 4 zones.

Critical location: Cinder Waste biome (Tier 4 area)

How to identify the zone: Open your map and look for purple-tinted regions, these indicate the Cinder Wastes. Standard Tier 4 areas won't have adamantite, it must be the volcanic Cinder Wastes zone.

Mining strategy: Once you're in the Cinder Wastes, search around lava pools and pockets. Adamantite ore blocks have a purple hue and spawn near lava sources. You can also find it in underground caverns within this biome and in underground chests.

Important note: Don't waste time searching Tier 4 zones that aren't the Cinder Wastes, adamantite won't spawn there.

# Mithril Ore

Current status: It's unclear whether Mithril ore is actually implemented in the current version of Hytale. Despite extensive exploration across all biomes and depths, no confirmed Mithril spawns have been documented. This ore may be added in a future update.
